On a bright morning, I rented a beach cruiser bicycle and pedaled toward Rockport. I followed coastal routes, passing marsh, estuaries, quiet lanes lined with oaks and palms. I stopped at overlook points, watched fish jump in shallow water, took photos of wildflowers.
I paused at Rockport Pier for a break, enjoying a snack and bay view. I rode on to historic districts, quirky local shops, galleries, then headed back before heat peaked.
At The Palms, I rinsed off and made fish tacos al fresco: grilled fish, cabbage slaw, crema, pico, tortillas. I took it down to the pool area and ate while watching kids splash. Later, I wandered the grounds, snapped photos, relaxed in the hot tub. My legs ached in a good way, and I slept soundly that night.
